MYX lamp 2013

The Myx lamp was one of the first creation in development of the Mycelium Textile project as a part of his final graduation project at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design in Copenhagen Denmark. During the initial 3 months research phase Jonas Edvard developed a new and innovative method for growing mycelium structures in the combination of non woven hemp fibre matts, which in combination with the mycelium spearheaded the attention and development in todays mycelium research. Being one of the first designers worldwide to actively apply mushroom based materials into design Jonas Edvard foresaw the importance of a new sustainable mechanism and methods in changing how design and architecture can be viewed in a holistic world, where using and discarding of materials are looped in a healthy environment.
